A group show that brings together works by ten international artists from Latin America with a selection of works on paper that are part of a project with exhibitions in both London and Budapest. KALEIDOSCOPE lays out Latin American artists' standpoints and aims to make them visible to the spectator not through constructed stereotype of otherness, but instead proposes an immersion into these artists' own perspectives with universal language influenced by their own contexts.

WHY PARIS?
KALEIDOSCOPE aims to share contemporary works by Latin American artists on a global scale. With Latino culture thriving in Paris, it is both relevant and meaningful to present this diversified population in an honestly delightful form. Latin American artists are not the “exotic” stereotype that the media and social outlets make them out to be, but rather are global contemporary artists from a country in Latin America. Breaking down stereotypes and revealing the universal art made by such a population is important in the context of Europe. Some of the works on paper have therefore been on view in prior exhibitions in both London and most recently in Budapest at K.A.S Gallery. This is an opportunity to merge two thriving cultures, that of France and of Latin American countries.
Our target audience are not only Latin Americans, but contrarily the entire public as a means to educate against stereotypes and delight the senses through paper forms. We invite those who are engaged with the arts, and those who aren't. Given the universal language used by these Latin American artists, the audience is diversified and limitless. Placing such an exhibition in Paris will draw in students, professionals, tourists and locals.

KALEIDOSCOPE focuses on works that use paper as a means to express their individuality. Like a kaleidoscope, viewers are invited to observe the artwork through a lense that mirrors the variety of facets of Latin American art, beyond the expected and biased societal stereotypes such as cultural heritage. The paper, as a medium, allows for such exploration of different perspectives.
